Started in 2006 and originally intended as a personal journal, TravelnTech Blog has evolved to include information, news and opinion about Technology, Travel and Entrepreneurship.

THE AUTHOR

Ryan Michael Gelig is a 25 year-old techie, entrepreneur who hails from the tropical island of Cebu. He holds a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from UP Diliman.

His interests are in electronics, computers, music, network gaming, travelling, watching movies and TV series. He is currently addicted to House, Heroes, Lost, Smallville, Desperate Housewives and The Apprentice. He is also a big fan of Apple technology due to their sleek, minimalist and user-centric interface designs.

In his early college days, he joined the DilNet Tech Support Team of UP Computer Center.In mid-2003 he and a few friends started Link Yakal, a dormitory internet connection project that aims to provide free internet access to all residents. Prior to leaving the dormitory, there were at least 100 residents with free internet access in their respective rooms. He founded the Yakal Internet Team to manage its day-to-day operations, provide technical support and formulate the policies.
